Back when I was a kid there was this song on the radio that cought my fanzy. Years later I tried to find it. I couldn’t I thought the title was “There’s A Awfull Lot Of Coffee In Brazil” and I thought a Girl had sung it. Then one day a few years ago I found the recording. It wasn’t a girl singer but Big Blue Eyes himself. The title wasn’t “There’s An Awfull Lot Of Coffee, But simply “THE COFFEE SONG”

@runawaymotor Sinatra did another – and I’d say better – version on his 1961 album, “Ring-a-Ding-Ding.” I’m sure that’s the version you’re thinking of.

@Yazoku I thought so to that I remembered it by a woman. I thought it could have been Peggy Lee but I looked in all the books on Popular Songs and Franks is the only one listed. and he’s the only one to chart with it.
Wasnt the original version sang by a woman in the 20s or 30s? Im sure iv heard an older version of this sang by a woman

I haven’t heard this song in a good 15 years. It was the song of choice for road trips on Boy Scout outings. We would request it until it was played, which sometimes took a while.
gotta hand it to Johnny Mandel for his awesome arrangement on the 1961 version (too bad we can’t post Reprise recordings)

Yes, wayback then $50 was a lot of money. That was because most people didn’t earn that much in a week. You can’t have yesterdays prices with todays wages. But it would ne nice.
