Here’s a fun and deeply delicious tasting roast made easily in a slow cooker. I’d allowed the meat to marinate overnight for some extra flavor, but imagine you’d have good results even just following the brown and slow cooking steps.

Main ingredient – Espresso! I’d highly recommend the Philips Saeco Espresso line of automatic machines! Personally enjoying the Syntia model to make this roast. I chose some other ingredients to complement and it turned out excellent.

Tablespoon of Paprika
Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
Tablespoon of Dried Oregano
Tablespoon of Cumin
Tablespoon of Thyme
Tablespoon of Chili Powder
1/2 Tablespoon of Pepper
1/2 Tablespoon of Salt
3 Cinnamon Sticks
1 Bay Leaf

I marinated mine overnight as you’ll see in the video and used most of the same ingredients above that go into the roast. In addition, sealing in the flavors by browning on all sides is highly recommended. For the browning I used -

1/4 Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 Cup of Red Wine

Pour this into the slow cooker, along with the other ingredients and 6 Shots of Strong Espresso. Then top with onions and carrots and top with water.

1/2 lb. of Baby Carrots
2 Onions Cut Up

Cook 6+ Hours in slow cooker on Lowest Setting. It smells and tastes fantastic!
